Big Hadron Games at the 2009 Global Game Jamby ProfessorMichelle on Jan.31, 2009, under bhg This afternoon marked the start of Big Hadron Games‘ participation in the 2009 Global Game Jam. This event challenges developers world-wide to create a game from start to finish in 48 hours. More than 1,750 people in 23 countries are putting their skills (and endurance) to the test. The full 48-hour period (from 5:00pm Friday to 5:00pm Sunday) is staggered between time zones, making the first finished time zone New Zealand, and Hawaii the last. To keep the contest between zones fair, each zone has a new set of themes and constraints. This makes for quite the design and implementation challenge! For more information check out the Global Game Jam website where you can find pictures and streaming video from almost all of the 53 locations. Completed games will be archived on the website February 1st so be sure to check back then.
